Questions people ask
What are these guides for?
They answer the questions that come before a booking rather than selling one: what a charter costs per head, whether you can swim, what happens if the weather turns, what to wear, whether children can come. Each one is written from what crews here are actually asked.
Who writes them?
Dubai Yacht Cruise Club, from the boats and the berths we operate from. Figures in them — hourly rates, capacities, sea temperatures, sunset times — come from the same data the booking pages use, so a rate change moves every number that quotes it.
How do I find the right guide?
They are grouped into eight topics by what they help you decide: choosing and booking, what it costs, being on board, the season, Dubai Marina, the coastline, the city after dark, and swimming. Every guide also links to three or four adjacent ones at the foot, which is usually faster than coming back here.
Do the guides cover things other than yacht charters?
Yes. Dhow and dinner cruises, jet skis and watersports, fishing, and the Dubai coastline generally — the Marina, the Creek, Al Seef, the Water Canal, the Palm and the World Islands. Several are about the city rather than about boats.
Are the prices in the guides current?
They are drawn from the live rate card rather than typed in, so a change to a boat's hourly rate updates every guide that mentions it. Third-party prices, such as shared dhow tickets or watersports, are indicative and worth confirming when you book.
How often are they updated?
Each guide carries its own published and updated date at the top. Seasonal material — weather, sea temperature, sunset times, what is on in a given month — is reviewed against the season rather than left to drift.
