Most baby shower venues in Dubai are a hotel function room or a corner of a restaurant, and both come with a time limit and other people's noise. A boat has neither. You get the whole thing for the hours you booked and the guest list is the room.
The practical considerations matter more here than on other charters. We keep the route inside the Palm crescent where the water is flat, run at low speed, and stay within twenty minutes of the berth. The 55ft is usually the right boat: good shade, a proper saloon with air conditioning, and a low platform for anyone who wants to sit with their feet in the water.
Decoration and catering are loaded before your guests arrive, so the setup is done when people step aboard. Cake is stored cold. If the mother-to-be is late in the pregnancy, tell us. We will keep the charter shorter and the sea flatter.

What decides a baby shower on the water: shade, motion and length
Three things decide whether this works, in that order, and none of them is the size of the boat. A properly shaded aft deck is the difference between a pleasant two hours and leaving early. An air-conditioned saloon to retreat into matters more between May and September than any amount of deck space.
Motion is controlled by the route rather than the boat. Inside the Palm Jumeirah crescent the water is flat almost every day of the year; out towards the World Islands it is not. For a guest in late pregnancy, staying inside the crescent is worth more than the extra scenery.
Two hours is comfortable and three is fine. Morning charters are calmer and cooler than afternoons in every season, and in summer an 8am start is genuinely pleasant where a midday one is not.
Decoration and catering that suit the occasion
This is the booking where decoration matters most and the restrictions bite least. Balloons, fabric banners, a name across the transom, table settings and flowers on deck all work, from about AED 350 arranged through us or nothing if you bring your own.
What is ruled out is fire and anything over the side — no candles, and no confetti, glitter or petals into the water. Petals on the deck are fine and the crew will clear them.
For food, a cold spread suits this better than a barbecue: catering starts at AED 120 a head for canapés, or bring your own at no charge, which most groups do. There is a fridge and ice aboard. Alcohol is by prior arrangement and, for obvious reasons, often not part of the day at all — chilled water, soft drinks and ice are included on every boat regardless.
Comfort notes worth asking about
Every boat has a heads, and on the larger boats more than one — worth confirming when you book, because it is the question nobody asks and everybody wants answered.
Boarding is over a small gangway or from the swim platform onto a floating pontoon that moves slightly underfoot. The crew will take bags, cake boxes and anything else aboard for you, and they will offer a hand at the step. Accepting it is the sensible move rather than a courtesy.
