Dubai Marina, where the boats leave from
Every charter here boards in Dubai Marina, so it is worth knowing the place properly: where to park, where to walk, where to eat, and how it fits against JBR and Bluewaters.
Every charter on this site boards at Dubai Marina Yacht Club, which means the hour before departure is spent in Dubai Marina whether you planned it or not. Park at Dubai Marina Mall or Pier 7, allow fifteen minutes more than the map says between six and eight in the evening, and walk in — the last stretch is pedestrian either way.
The Marina is a dug channel rather than a natural harbour, about three kilometres long, and it takes a boat ten to twelve minutes to clear the breakwater from the berths. That is time out of your charter, and it is also the best-looking part of the trip in both directions, which is why the guides here argue it is worth the minutes rather than treating it as transit.
JBR, Bluewaters and Dubai Harbour are three different places that visitors routinely merge into one, and the difference matters if you are meeting people or booking anything nearby. JBR is the beach strip south of the Marina mouth, Bluewaters is the island with Ain Dubai on it, and Dubai Harbour is the newer basin north of both.

A list of the marinas in Dubai, ranked by what they suit
The useful list of marinas in Dubai is six: Dubai Marina for charters and restaurants, Dubai Harbour for large yachts and cruise ships, Dubai Creek Marina for the old city, Dubai Festival City for the Creek's upper reach, Mina Rashid for superyachts and the QE2, and Jebel Ali for boats kept cheaply away from the crowd.

The superyacht berths in Dubai, and who uses them
A superyacht berth in Dubai means Mina Rashid or Dubai Harbour: both take vessels well over 100 metres at deep-water quays, while Dubai Marina's canal geometry limits it to considerably smaller boats.
Questions people ask
How early should I get to Dubai Marina before a charter?
Thirty minutes before departure, not fifteen. Boarding is fifteen minutes before, and the walk from either car park to the berths takes eight to twelve minutes once you have found the right pontoon gate. Charter time runs berth to berth, so the buffer is protecting your own hours.
Is Dubai Marina walkable, or do I need a car between places?
Entirely walkable. Marina Walk runs about seven kilometres around the channel and connects the mall, the towers, Pier 7 and the beach end at JBR without crossing a road. The metro reaches it at DMCC and Sobha Realty, both about a ten-minute walk from the water.
Can people see us off, or wait somewhere while we sail?
Yes to both. The pontoon gates are access-controlled but the promenade beside them is public, and there are cafés on Marina Walk within sight of the berths. Anyone not sailing counts against nothing — only guests aboard count against the vessel licence.
