Yacht proposals and weddings in Dubai

A yacht proposal in Dubai starts at AED 1,500 for a private two-hour sunset charter, with the departure timed so the light lands where you want it and the crew briefed on the exact moment. Weddings and receptions run on the 85ft for up to thirty-five guests from AED 12,800.

Notice
Three weeks for a wedding, three days for a proposal

A proposal on a boat works because the timing is controllable in a way it is not anywhere else. We know the sunset to the minute, we know where the light will be, and we can position the boat so the skyline is behind you rather than in front. Tell us the moment and we build the two hours around it.

The crew are the other half of it. On a proposal charter they set out whatever you have sent us (a ring box, flowers, a bottle on ice) while you are looking somewhere else, and then they disappear. Nobody hovers. If you want a photographer aboard we brief them to shoot from the flybridge so they are not in the frame.

Weddings are a bigger undertaking and worth being plain about: a boat is a good ceremony venue for thirty-five people and a poor one for eighty. On the 85ft you get a deck for the ceremony, a saloon with formal dining for eighteen, a crew of five and a licensed capacity of thirty-five. Legal registration happens onshore; the boat is where the day happens.

Dubai Marina after dark, the towers lit and their colour running across the water

What is included

  • Departure timed to the sunset for your exact date
  • Positioning so the skyline sits behind the moment, not in front of it
  • Crew briefed in advance and kept out of the way
  • Flowers, ring box, cake or a bottle set out before boarding
  • Photographer and videographer arranged and briefed at supplier cost

Worth knowing

  • Legal marriage registration in the UAE happens onshore. The boat hosts the ceremony and the reception, not the paperwork.
  • Rose petals and confetti must be biodegradable, and nothing goes over the side.
  • For a proposal, send us the ring the day before if you would rather not carry it aboard.

Time a yacht proposal on the way out, not the way back

The single most common mistake on a proposal charter is planning it around the sunset itself and running out of light. The usable window here is about forty minutes wide — Dubai sits at twenty-five degrees north, the sun drops steeply, and civil twilight lasts roughly twenty-five minutes rather than the hour northern Europeans expect.

So the moment goes about twenty-five minutes out, ten to fifteen minutes before the sun actually reaches the horizon, with the Marina skyline behind you. That leaves the whole rest of the charter as a celebration rather than a wait, and it means a boat running slightly late has not cost you the thing you booked for.

Say at the enquiry stage that it is a proposal. It changes how the boat is crewed, where the captain positions, and whether anyone walks into the frame.

Arranging it without her knowing

Everything can be aboard before you board: flowers, a bottle on ice, a cake, a ring box in the safe on the larger boats. Nothing is carried down the pontoon, and there is no moment where a bag gives it away.

A photographer for the first ninety minutes runs from about AED 800 and is introduced as a deckhand until the moment. That is the arrangement that works, and it is the reason to book one rather than rely on a crew member with a phone.

Drone footage needs a permit with about a week of lead time, so say so early rather than on the day. Ordinary photography and video need nothing.

Weddings, and what the boat can hold

For a ceremony rather than a proposal, the constraint is the licensed guest number, and it is a hard one. The 85ft carries thirty-five, and above that no yacht in Dubai is licensed for you regardless of budget or length — capacity comes from vessel certification rather than size.

For a larger wedding the honest answer is a private dhow, from about AED 9,000 for two hours and up to a hundred guests with dinner, or a venue ashore with a boat for the photographs. Trying to split a wedding party across two yachts running together keeps the guest list intact and splits the wedding, which is usually the wrong trade when someone has to make a speech.

The standard. Out at the right time, positioned for the light, crew invisible for the ten minutes that matter.

  • Proposal with dinner

3 hours · from AED 3,150 plus catering

Anchored behind the Palm afterwards, with a served dinner and no schedule to keep.

  • Wedding ceremony

    4 hours · from AED 12,800

The 85ft for up to thirty-five, with the ceremony on the aft deck, dining inside and the reception at anchor.

    2 hours · from AED 2,100

Boat and crew for the couple and a photographer only, usually the morning after the ceremony.

FAQ

Questions people ask

How much does a yacht proposal in Dubai cost?

From AED 1,500 for a private two-hour sunset charter, which includes the boat, the crew and the timing. Flowers and a cake add about AED 350, and a photographer aboard from AED 900.

Can you get married on a yacht in Dubai?

You can hold the ceremony and reception on a yacht. Our 85ft takes up to thirty-five guests with the ceremony on the aft deck and dining inside, from AED 12,800 for four hours. Legal registration is done onshore separately.

How do you plan a surprise proposal on a boat?

Tell us the moment you want and we build the charter around it: departure timed to the real sunset, the boat positioned so the skyline is behind you, and the crew setting out flowers and the ring while you are looking elsewhere. Three days' notice is enough.

How many guests can attend a yacht wedding in Dubai?

Thirty-five on our 85ft, which is the licensed limit. For a larger wedding, a privately hired dhow takes up to a hundred guests, though it is a very different setting.

Can we bring a photographer on board?

Yes, and we recommend it. We brief them to shoot from the flybridge so they are not in the frame during the moment. A photographer counts towards the guest number on the licence.
