Choosing a boat, and getting it booked
What to ask for, what a real quote looks like, and how the booking actually works from the first message to the pontoon. Start here if you have not chartered before.
Almost every enquiry that reaches us is missing the same three things: a date, a rough number of people, and what the day is for. With those, a quote takes minutes and is accurate. Without them, the exchange takes four messages and ends up at the same place, which is why the guides in this group keep returning to what to send rather than what to ask for.
The thing worth understanding before any of it is that a private charter in Dubai is priced by the boat and by the hour, not by the head, and that every boat carries a minimum — two hours on the 48ft, three on the 62ft, four on the 85ft. So the cheapest real charter here is not an hourly rate at all: it is AED 1,500, being two hours at AED 750. Group size changes which boat you are on, and only then what it costs.
No qualification, residency or paperwork is needed from you. Every charter sails with a certified captain whose licence covers the trip, and a passport for the lead booker is the only document that ever comes into it. If you want to drive the boat yourself, that is a different question with a different answer, and there is a guide below for it.

Questions people ask
What is the difference between a charter, a cruise and a boat tour?
A charter is the whole boat for your group, priced by the hour. A cruise is a seat on a shared boat, priced per person, usually with dinner and a fixed route. A boat tour sits between them and is either, depending on the operator, which is why the price gap looks so wide until you check what you are actually buying.
Is anything on this site bookable online?
No. Every date is checked against the fleet by hand before a price is confirmed, because availability on a four-boat fleet changes hourly at weekends. An enquiry takes about three minutes to answer on WhatsApp, and no deposit is taken until you have the boat, the hours and the total in writing.
